In an effort to raise awareness about epilepsy and promote positive images regarding individuals with intellectual disabilities the Epilepsy Association embarked on its annual campaign during the month of November with a modest public awareness campaign in the region. The national effort, that takes place during November of each year, was supported locally with a grant from the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council and included newspaper public service announcements (see ad), radio spots, and planned scheduled radio interviews throughout the month of November that will extend to 2010.
